About the F3-16AD
The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo F3-16AD is a sixteen channel analog input module. A member of the DirectLogic 305 series, this device can interface with controllers and modules from the same series, as well as other peripheral devices. The module can be set to input either analog current or analog voltage mediums. Since each channel is single ended, all sixteen terminate into a single common. Incoming signals are converted from analog into a digitally digestible medium using the integrated 12-bit resolution.
As the module deals with voltages and currents, monitoring these levels will help to maintain the device longer. Input ranges for F3-16AD are selectable, with options including ±5/10 V, 0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V, 0 to 20 mA, and 4 to 20 mA. At the factory, each module is set for 0 to 20 mA. Ranges can be changed using the selectable jumpers found on the device. Each channel can be wired to accept either voltage or current inputs. The absolute maximum rating that the module can sustain registers at ±25 mA for voltage input, ±30 mA for current input.
Longevity of the device is dependent upon following all installation and storage protocols. Temperature can affect the output of the device, prompting environment regulations. When operating, ambient temperatures can safely range from 0℃ to 60℃, or 32℉ to 140℉. Storage temperatures offer more fluctuation, with sustainable temperatures falling as low as -20℃, or -4℉, and raising as high as 70℃, or 158℉. All wiring and installation parameters are available in the series manual and device datasheet. Technical support for this device was originally provided by the manufacturers.
