About the D4-16TD2
D4-16TD2 is a DC output module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. A member of the DirectLogic 405 series, it installs into any DL405 programmable logic controller. While in the controller, the module relays DC outputs to other connected modules and peripheral devices. This device features sixteen current sourcing output channels. These channels all terminate into one of the two isolated commons found in the module.
Device monitoring is necessary to maintain the integrity of the module. With currents and voltages flowing through the circuitry, any spikes can damage the module. For proper function, an operating voltage between 10.2 and 26.4 VDC is required. The module can sustain a peak voltage of up to 40 VDC. The maximum resistive current each channel can sustain measures a 0.5 A per point. Temperature can affect the maximum resistive current each common can support. When operating at 50℃, each common can sustain 3 A, but if operating at 60℃, the maximum current measures 2.5 A per common. D4-16TD2 needs a 5V base power of, at maximum, 400 mA to operate properly.
Be sure to follow all storage and installation parameters. Following these guidelines will prevent D4-16TD2 from accruing any unnecessary damages. Not only can temperatures affect the current levels of the module, they can also affect the overall quality of the device. While operating, maintain an ambient temperature between 0℃ and 60℃, or 32℉ and 140℉. Storage temperatures are more lenient, with acceptable temperatures ranging from -20℃, or -4℉, to 70℃, or 158℉. Refer to the series manual and datasheets for all installation and wiring protocols. Technical support for this device was provided by the original manufacturers, Automation Direct and Koyo.
