About the D4-32ND3-2
D4-32ND3-2 is a DC input module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. A member of the DirectLogic 405 series, the module can interface with both programmable logic controllers and external devices. 32 sink/ source inputs are featured on the module, allowing for increased data consumption. Each of these inputs terminates into one of four isolated commons found in the device.
Monitoring voltage and current levels routinely will prevent the module from receiving any unnecessary damages. D4-32ND3-2 has an input range from 4.75 to 13.2 VDC, with a measured peak voltage of 15 VDC. Voltage levels must be greater than 4V to trigger an ON voltage level. OFF voltage, conversely, requires less than 2V supplied to the module. When operating at 5V, the input current measures at 3.1 mA, while inputting 12V produces a 7.5 mA input current. The module requires a minimum ON current of 1.8 mA, while the maximum OFF current measures at just 0.8 mA.
All safety and storage parameters should be followed. These guidelines will prevent the device from accruing any unnecessary damages. D4-32ND3-2 performs best when installed in a climate controlled environment. When the device is operating, ambient temperatures can safely fall to 0℃, or 32℉, and raise to 60℃, or 140℉. Storage temperatures, too, should be monitored to maintain the device. When not in use, temperatures have a wider range, with safe temperatures falling between -20℃ and 70℃, or -4℉ and 158℉. A complete installation and wiring guide is available in the device manual and datasheet. The manufacturers, Automation Direct and Koyo, provided original technical support for this series.
