About the F4-08THM-K
The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo F4-08THM-K is a thermocouple input module. Manufactured for the DirectLogic 405 series, this eight channel module interfaces with programmable logic controllers of the same series as well as external devices. Incoming thermocouple signals are converted into ℉ or ℃ temperature readings. This module specifically measures only Type K inputs, with ranges between -238℉ and 2502℉, or -150℃ and 1372℃. The system’s 16-bit resolution works to accurately convert these thermocouple signals into precise temperature readings.
F4-08THM-K provides user with complete temperature readings that require no extra calculations or scaling. All data used in calculations is based on information provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). These measurements are kept precise using a variety of system features, including automatic cold junction compensation (CJC) and digital filtering. Each of the eight channels on the device are fault protected inputs. Each input can support up to ±50 VDC. The module requires an external power supply of 18 to 26.4 VDC.
All storage and installation parameters should be followed to prolong the longevity of the module. Even though the device can measure acute temperature ranges, F4-08THM-K cannot be housed in these conditions. While the device is operating, ambient temperatures can safely fall as low as 32℉, or 0℃, and raise as high as 140℉, or 60℃. If the device is not in use, storage temperatures should still be monitored. Temperatures can safely range from -4℉ to 158℉, or -20℃ to 70℃ while in storage. All installation and wiring protocols are available in the device manual and datasheet. Technical support for this module was provided by the original manufacturers.
