About the F4-08THM-T
The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo F4-08THM-T is a thermocouple input module. A member of the DirectLogic 405 series, it interfaces with programmable logic controllers of the same series in addition to external peripheral devices. The module works to convert incoming thermocouple signals into ℉ or ℃ direct temperature readings. Specifically, this module is only compatible with Type J input signals. These can measure temperatures from -230℃ to 400℃, or -382℉ to 752℉. All conversions are precise and accurate with the integrated 16-bit resolution.
F4-08THM-T provides accurate and precise temperature readings that do not require any extra scaling or conversions. All information is processed based on data collected from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The integrity and quality of the produced data is further protected using a number of system features. These features include automatic cold junction compensation, thermocouple linearization, and digital filtering. All eight of the channels found on the module are fault protected inputs. These connections can support up to 50 VDC. The module requires an external power supply between 18 and 26.4 VDC.
Be sure to follow all provided installation and storage parameters, as this will protect the device from any unnecessary damages. F4-08THM-T and other thermocouple modules can measure extreme temperatures, but cannot survive outside of climate controlled environments. When operating, the module can withstand temperatures no lower than 32℉, or 0℃, and no higher than 140℉, or 60℃. Storage temperatures can also affect the quality of the device. When not in use, temperatures can range from -4℉ to 158℉, or -20℃ to 70℃. The user manual and device datasheet include complete installation and wiring guides. The manufacturers provided original technical support for this module.
