About the F4-4LTC
F4-4LTC is a four loop temperature controller developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. A member of the DirectLogic 405 family, this temperature module interfaces with the CPU module of any DL405 logic controller. The four integrated PID loops work to control the unit’s outputs to maintain precise temperature control. This device can be applied in a number of different uses as it accepts both thermocouple and resistance temperature detector (RTD) inputs. Jumpers found on the module allow the user to select the desired setting.
A number of integrated features optimize the user experience with F4-4LTC. Whether the device is operating RTD or thermocouple, the module displays direct temperature readings. A number of thermocouple inputs are accepted by this loop controller, including J, C, T, N, R, E, K, S, and B. The module easily adapts to to changing conditions or temperatures using the automatic control loop tuning. Other features include various auditory alarm settings as well as diagnostic capabilities.
Provided installation and storage parameters should be followed to prolong the life of the device. As F4-4LTC is a temperature sensitive device, it requires a climate controlled operating and storage facility. While the device is in use, temperatures can safely range from 32℉ (0℃) to 140℉ (60℃). Storage temperatures should also be taken into consideration, should the device not be in use. Acceptable limits fall as low as -4℉ (-20℃), and raise as high as 158℉ (70℃). A complete safety and installation guide is available in both the series manual and device datasheet. Technical support for this module was provided by the manufacturers, Automation Direct and Koyo.
