About the H4-ECOM-F
The H4-ECOM-F module is a Fiber Optic Ethernet Communications module that was developed and manufactured by Automation Direct for their series called DirectLogic 405.
The H4-ECOM-F communications module has an ethernet port that is rated as a ST-style fiber optic port and the ethernet protocols are TCP/IP and IPX. The data transfer rate for the H4-ECOM-F communications module is 10 Mbps maximum. The link distance has a maximum of 2,000 meters (or 6,560 feet). The H4-ECOM-F communications module has the largest power consumption of the DirectLogic 405 series, and that is rated as 670 mA at 5 VDC. Contrast this with the H4-ECOM communications module, which has a power consumption rating of 530 mA at 5 VDC, and the H4-ECOM100 communications module, which has a power consumption rating of 300 mA at 5 VDC.
The H4-ECOM-F communications module can accept a 62.5/125 multimode fiber optic (MMF) cable, which has a glass core diameter of 62.5 micrometers and a glass cladding of 125 micrometers. This fiber optic cable is immune to any noise and will permit communications over greater distances than the base model. The H4-ECOM-F communications module also accepts the ST-style connector cables, which are used to connect the H4-ECOM-F communications module to another H4-ECOM-F communications module or to a fiber optic hub or a repeater.
The H4-ECOM-F communications module is a large, rectangular gray device. Toward the top of the device, there are three indicator lights that read, “LINKGD,” “ACTIVE,” and “ERROR.” Toward the middle of the device, there are two slots, one white and one gray, that are labeled as “TRANSMIT” and “RECEIVE.”
