About the H4-ERM-F
The H4-ERM-F module is a fiber optic ethernet remote I/O master module that was created by AutomationDirect for the DirectLogic 405 series. The H4-ERM-F module has two closely related products, the H4-ERM module, and the H4-ERM-100 module. All three of these modules are closely related yet have some differences in the specifications.
All of the H4-ERM modules are compatible with DirectLogic 205, DirectLogic 405, Do-more PLC systems, and WinPLC systems. The H4-ERM module connects with the ethernet remote slave modules using the 10BaseFL fiber optic ethernet link cable. Each H4-ERM module can have a maximum of sixteen slave modules connected when using the DirectLOGIC 205, DirectLOGIC 405, and the Do-more PLC systems.
The H4-ERM-F module uses 10BaseFL ethernet communication methods, has an ST-style fiber optic ethernet port, and uses TCP/IP and IPX ethernet protocols. The link distance for the H4-ERM-F module is very long at 2,000 meters or 6,560 feet. The power consumption rating of the H4-ERM-F module is 450 mA at 5 VDC.
As mentioned above, the H4-ERM-F module has an ST-style connector that will use a quick-release coupling requiring it to be turned a quarter for engaging or disengaging functions. The ST-style connectors on the module can connect another H4-ERM-F model or a fiber optic repeater or hub. When the connectors are being used with fiber optic cables, the module will accept multimode fiber optic cables 62.5 or 125. The cabling used is best to permit communications and immunity to noise.
