About the DM152QL
DM152QL
Cognex’s barcode reader and scanner line, dubbed the “DataMan” series. Within the DataMan series, there are four separate designations. There are the 150 and 152 models, the latter of which being where this product is classified, and then there are the 260 and 262 models. Each of these models then have differing categories of software classifications, so there are alphabetical designations: L, QL, S, and X.
The DM152QL comes pre-programmed with only the base level of 2-D scanning capabilities, but in its abilities to read 1-D barcodes, this model is able to scan 1-D codes that may have been printed on top of others, or are strangely oriented at an odd angle, or have even been printed in omnidirectional ways. This all depends on their printing quality, but, the software that the DM152QL comes with, the 1DMax package and Hotbars II algorithms, makes this model able to read and properly scan labels, regardless of the method and quality of label’s printing.
The hardware that the DM152QL is made up of is entirely solid state components. Moving parts, such as lasers and racter materials, would require for more time spent in repairs, as they break down more often than solid state materials.
The 152 models are outfitted with a global shutter and 1/3 inch CMOS image sensor, which is capable of processing images in a 1280 by 960 pixel resolution, and has a frame rating of 45 frames per second, and is able to process the 1-D barcode decodings at a similar rate, 45 codes per second.
