Cognex’s series of barcode scanners, the DataMan series, has several models of their 1-D and 2-D code compatible scanners. The four numerical designations that the models fall into are the 150 series, the 152 series, which the DMR-152X-0540-P belongs into, and the 260 series and the 262 series. These models vary in their specifications, such as the X models are the only ones able to process 2-D matrix codes.
The 152 models have the internal specifications of a 1280 x 960 pixel resolution for its image sensor, the ⅓ inch CMOS unit, and its standard global shutter gives it an acquisition rate of 45 frames per each second. Integrated into the DMR-152X-0540-P’s aluminum frame is a field configurable, modular lighting system made up of four high powered, intense LED lights. This eliminates the need for a external lighting system for the model to successfully view the codes that are needed to be scanned. There is also a set of green LED lights that are intended for aiming the scanner’s optics at the code labels. This, combined with the lighting system, makes the DMR-152X-0540-P a powerful, effective module for warehouse operations and inventory label scanning and decoding.
There are other pieces of hardware integrated into the DMR-152X-0540-P as well: a set of four opto-isolated inputs and outputs, 2 inputs, and 2 outputs, and an auto tune switch, along with an RS 232 plug and a USB interface port.
