About the DM260X
DM260X
Cognex, one of the leading producers and manufacturing companies of industrial equipment, has specialized in optics based hardware for assembly line and warehouse belt lines. This series of products, these advanced barcode scanners, are known as the “DataMan” series, which are then divided into four separate categories. There’s the DataMan 150 models, the DataMan 152 models, the DataMan 260 models, and then the DataMan 262 models. This product, the DM260X, falls into the 260 category.
The DM260X is an advanced model of barcode scanner that comes programmed with the 1-D and 2-D algorithms that allow for 1-D codes that have been stacked, or have been oriented at odd angles, or are omnidirectional, and is able to process 2-D codes that have entire sections altered, such as a missing finder pattern or a clocking pattern, or a quiet zone around its border. The software that makes the DM260X capable of these processes is the 1DMax package, including Hotbars II, and the 2DMax software. This model is able to decode at a rate of 45 decodes per second, and is able to monitor product lines that operate as fast as 300 feet per minute.
The hardware on this model is made entirely out of solid state materials and components. There are no moving parts whatsoever, like laser components and raster parts. Internally, the image processing is done by a 1/3 inch Complementary Metal/Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) unit, and a series of 6 I/O entry ports for communication and data transfer.
