The DataMan barcode scanner and reader is a product that was originally developed and produced by Cognex, one of the leading manufacturing companies that supply the market with industrial automation visual sensors and scanners, such as their In-Sight 2000 and 8000 series cameras and the several models of DataMan barcode scanners: the 150, the 152, the 260, and, the group that this unit falls into, the 262.
The DMR-262Q model is programmed with the base level capabilities for both 1-D and 2-D type barcodes to be scanned and read. The 1-D software package, 1DMax, which comes with the Hotbars II algorithms, makes sure that the DMR-262Q is able to read codes that may have been printed poorly or are damaged. The combination of effective hardware and the 1-D reading software make the DMR-262Q model able to identify labels as small as 0.8 pixels per module.
The 2-D code reading software, 2DMax, makes sure that the model is able to read matrix codes that may have specific patterns obscured, such as their finder pattern or clocking pattern, or have a quiet zone around it.
The 262 models come with an integrated series of LED lights, in order for the device to see the label, and to also eliminate the need for an external light source. There are also a discrete set of 6 isolated input ports and output ports, as well as an RS-232 plug-in port and an Ethernet trigger plug.
