Originally manufactured by Cognex, one of the leading providers of industrial monitors and scanners. This lineup of scanners was dubbed by Cognex as their “DataMan” series. Their collection of barcode readers spans over numerous models, with four numeric designations. There’s the 150 models, the 152 models, the 260 models, and, where this product belongs, the 262 model.
Like the rest of the DataMan 262 models, many of its specifications remain the same across all of this lineup. The physical configurations of the scanner can change between the standard in-line setup, which gives it a direct line of sight when mounted onto a wall, or, there is also the 90 degree, right angle configuration, for when the layout of the assembly line requires it. The in-line set up has dimensions of 43.1 mm x 22.4 mm x 64 mm, while the right angle set up has dimensions of 43.1 mm x 35.8 mm x 49.3 mm.
The hardware additions onto the DMR-262S-00 are built entirely out of solid state parts, and no moving parts whatsoever, such as laser modules or raster materials. Internally, there is a 1/3 inch CMOS (complementary metal/oxide semiconductor) imager unit, with a global shutter. These components give the captured image a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels, and then a frame rating of 45 frames per second. The DMR-262S-00’s decoding rating makes it able to process up to 45 codes per second.
