About the DMR-800
DMR-800
The DataMan series of barcode scanners don’t just stop at the wall mounted, immobile scanners of the 150, 152, 260 and the 262 DataMan series, there are also the hand-held code scanners, for when you want to imagine you’re a cowboy instead of a product monitor for inventory on an assembly line.
The DataMan 800/850/855 line of handheld scanners was built, produced, developed, and manufactured by one of the leading developers of automated, industrial vision hardware, such as industrial monitors and cameras and these barcode scanners—Cognex. Their designated line of handheld scanners have three models to choose from, all of which cover the 1-D and 2-D scanning needed for any inventory.
Their DataMan 800 series is the base product of them, equipped with a 1.3 megapixel image sensor, and offers several high powered performance capabilities, and high quality images. The handheld scanner provides the operator with a point and shoot barcode capture, and one with no need to orient products to face the window of the scanner. The viewfinder makes sure that the barcode is scanned successfully despite which way it may be facing.
Even though this product is advertised primarily as a handheld device, of course there are options for a hands-free experience in using this scanner.
The DMR-800 is designed to be a hardy piece of equipment, able to withstand a 6 foot (1.8 meter) drop onto concrete. Its frame is protected by an IP-65 rated casing, weighing up to 6.4 ounces (182 grams).
