In order to properly monitor and indicate whether or not a piece of merchandise on the assembly line floor, what works best is a piece of technology that’s designed to do just that.
That’s where Cognex and their In-Sight 2000 line of visual sensors come in, with dozens of models available for the specifications needed. The standard amount of voltage and wattage needed to successfully power this model is 24 volts of direct current, and 48 watts to power the integrated light system. High brightness LED rings are optimized with a pair of lens filters and an IMPF-2000-POLAR polarizer, which get rid of the need for an external light source to use while the sensors are active.
The standard In-Sight dimensions are in place; 92 millimeter length, 60 millimeter width, and 52 millimeter height, and 200 gram weight. The average temperature range when operational is between 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, or 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The heavy-duty aluminum frame is able to withstand a semi-sinusoidal shock 10 G vibration test at all of the three main axis points.
The acceptable lens sizes range from 3.6 mm to 25 mm, though the standard is 8 mm. It’s M12 S Mount and lens spacer is compatible with each of these options, and the shutter operates at 0 to 1000 milliseconds, 40 frames per second. The CMOS inspects up to 3.75 monochrome pixel micrometers.
