About the IS5603
The Cognex IS5603 is a high resolution vision system developed for the Insight 5000 series. As a high resolution model of the series, this device is best suited for inspecting large pieces of machinery for precision and accuracy. Image acqusition is reliable and quick, as the camera can capture 15 full grayscale frames per second. Grayscale capabilities of this device provide 256 differential levels of gray. 256 MB of image processing memory allow captured images to be displayed in a 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. This image clarity provides extreme accuracy with minute details. Additionally, the device features 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory, providing a space to store program and job commands.
In addition to its high resolution capabilities, IS5603 also features a 20 times speed rating. An array of extended tool and ID features are also built into this device. Supported features include barcode reading, image filters, and nonlinear calibration. Two discrete high speed outputs are also integrated into the device. An Ethernet and a 10/100/1000 BaseT protocol provide networking capabilities to the device. Additionally, serial I/O interfacing is available in the form of RS232C connections.
Following provided storage and installation parameters will protect the device from accidental or avoidable damages. A controlled climate is ideal when storing or operating the IS5603 as it includes temperature sensitive parts. While operating on the line, temperatures can safely range from 32℉ to 113℉, or 0℃ to 45℃. Additional care should be taken when the device is not in use, as temperatures can affect it even when not operating. Storage temperatures can safely range from -22℉, or -30℃, to 176℉, or 80℃. The device datasheet and user manual contain a complete safety and usage guide. Originally, techincal support for this device was provided by Cognex.
