About the IS5604
The Cognex IS5604 is a line scan vision system developed for the Insight 5000 series. Where other vision systems capture images, this device builds images line by line to produce high quality and high resolution images. Images captured by this unit will all feature a resolution of 44K lines per second. Each image is processed with the 256 MB of available processing memory. Additionally, 128 MB of flash memory provides the user with program and job storage space. Should more memory be required, the use of a remote network can provide unlimited storage and memory space.
Images captured by this device are clear and accurate, in part from the device’s 20 times speed rating. Base and extended sets of tools are built into the device to provide users with an ample ability to review collected information. These tools include abilities such as nonlinear calibration, image filters, and text reading. IS5604 also features a high speed Ethernet and 10/100 BaseT protocol to act as networking points for the device. Serial I/O interfacing is also available through the RS232C connection.
Provided installation parameters should be followed to ensure that IS5604 operates within its prescribed abilities. Containing delicate components dictates that this part must be housed in a controlled climate. Temperatures can safely range from 0℃ to 45℃ (32℉ to 113℉) while the unit is operating. Even when not in use, storage temperatures should be maintained between -30℃ (-22℉) and 80℃ (176℉).
