About the IS5610
The Cognex IS5610 is a fixed-mount identification (ID) reader from Cognex. A member of the In-Sight 5000 series, this device offers high-speed code reading capabilities. IDMax software allows the camera to read and verify text and 1- and 2- dimensional barcodes. Advanced OCR/OCV tools make text reading and verification possible on this device. The system can read codes at over 7200 ppm, highlighting the device’s integrated speed. A 20 times speed rating and an image acquisition rate of 60 frames per second ensure that all captured images are shot in real-time.
All captured images are processed with 256 MB of photo memory. An additional 128 MB of flash storage space is available for the IS5610 to save programs and jobs. This device is a high-performance system, allowing for fast access to the tool library. A 1 GHz processor allows the device to operate these tools with ease. Some ID tools available on this device are 1- and 2-D barcode reading, text reading, and image filters. To run the system In-Sight firmware version 4.4.3 (or later) must be installed for proper functionality. Additional network capabilities are available via the built-in Ethernet or 10/100/1000 BaseT protocol. External I/O modules can interface with this device using a serial RS232C connection.
Following provided installation and storage protocols will ensure that IS5610 operates within its limits. When installed on a production line, ambient temperatures should be monitored to maintain a safe operating range. These can range from 32° to 113°F (0° to 45°C) with non-circulating air. Storage temperatures can be as low as -22°F (-30°C) to as high as 176°F (80°C). An installation and safety guide is provided in the user manual and any available device datasheets.
