About the IS5613
The Cognex IS5613 is a mounted ID reader from the In-Sight 5000 series. Developed as an identification reader, this device can read 1- and 2- dimensional barcodes as well as text. Text reading and verification are possible with the advanced OCR/OCV tools built into the device. In addition, this unit features a derivative of the PatMax software, IDMax. The IDMax software intelligently reads barcodes in real-time, allowing the device to maintain speeds consistent with high-speed production lines. Code reading with the IS5613 occurs at a rate of 7200 ppm. As a whole, the device records a 20 times speed rating with an image acquisition rate of 14 full frames per second.
IS5613 is categorized as a high-performance model as it features a 1 GHz processor to run the Cognex tool library. All identification tools, barcodes, and text, as well as image filters, are included tool sets on this device. Images captured with the device are all processed with the 256 MB of available image memory into a 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. Storage for programs or jobs is provided in 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory. Network interfacing capabilities are available using the high-speed Ethernet and 10/100/1000 BaseT protocols. External I/O modules can connect and communicate with the device via an RS232C connection.
Maintaining the device relies on proper installation and storage parameters being followed. IS5613 contains temperature-sensitive components that require a controlled climate. When the device is not operating, the storage temperatures range from -30°C to 80°C or -22°F to 176°F. Once installed on a line, ambient temperatures can measure no lower than 0°C, or 32°F, and no higher than 45°C, or 113°F. The series manual and the device datasheet contain a complete installation guide for the device.
