Produced by Cognex Vision the ISM1402-01 model is just one of the many In-Sight Micro Vision Systems. Vision systems of this variety are predominantly used in applications where something must be identified including but not limited to alphanumeric characters, barcodes, or items that need to be identified by their shape. One advantage of using this model is the small packaging where the model can be used with or without a mounting block, when the model is being used without a mounting block the dimensions of this unit are 1.18” (30 mm) by 1.18” (30 mm) by 2.36” (60 mm). 

Two user interfaces can be used with this unit, the two interfaces are Spreadsheet and EasyBuilder, when being used with the EasyBuilder interface the ISM1402-01 model is used for building a factory-wide network of vision systems or single-point inspection tasks. In terms of the resolution of this model, it is not quite high resolution but not quite standard either, the maximum number of pixels used with this model is 1280 by 1024. 

There are a variety of inputs and outputs that can be connected to the ISM1402-01 model, it must be noted that the cable connectors are specifically designed and keyed to fit the connectors of this device; under no circumstances should the connections be forced or else damage could possibly occur. Another specification regarding this model is that all adjustments and wiring regarding the inputs and outputs must be executed when no power is available on the system.
