The Eurotherm 590 set of SSD models (solid state drives) is a lineup of modules developed and originally produced and sold by Parker Engineering and their division of electromechanical devices. These devices range between regenerative and non-regenerative models, which depends on the internal components and features within the unit on hand.

This model, the 590P/0040/500/0010/UK, is a regenerative model from the Eurotherm 590 series. This device is outfitted with a set of supply fuses, a contactor module, a pair of controlled, 3 phase thyristor bridge units, a single bridge field, which offers transient protection capabilities in the event of an overload. These pieces of hardware are all standard within the regenerative units, and are managed by the advanced control circuitry, which also manages the controlled motor’s speed and torque.

The 590P/0040/500/0010/UK is powered by a standard voltage intake of at least 110 volts of direct current, but is able to handle a maximum intake of 230 V/DC. The Eurotherm 590 series of products are designed to produce a motor output of at least 68 kilowatts, or 90 horsepower, at a rate of 460 V/DC.

The speed control for the motor is managed by an armature voltage feedback, paired with IR compensation. The speed range is at 100 to 1, typical of the tachogenerator feedback.
