About the OPC-G11-SLON
The Fuji Electric OPC-G11-SLON is an optional networking card developed for the Frenic 5000 G11 series. Each inversion drive from the G11 series includes space to internally mount two option cards. This option is a serial communications card. It provides interfacing capabilities between the G11 drive and LonWorks networking. LonWorks is a local operating network used in a number of control applications. This software allows devices to network using an array of media, including twisted pair, fiber optics, and radio frequency.
Drives from the P11 series can accept two internally mounted cards. Two different kinds of cards, Type 1 and Type 2 are available. OPC-G11-SLON specifically is a Type 2 card. It cannot be used with another Type 2 card, only a Type 1. When mounting, only two locations are provided by Fuji, but this card must be installed in Location B. Locating this spot requires removing the detachable keypad on the front of the drive. This keypad only requires removal of the front plate of the drive. Underneath the keypad is a special adapter that the card installs in.
Maintaining the OPC-G11-SLON card requires maintaining the entire G11 unit. The drive itself is protected by a NEMA 1 enclosure, allowing for indoor installation. When operating in a factory or production line setting, ambient facility temperatures should be maintained between 14℉ and 122℉ (-10℃ and 50℃). This will ensure the device functions properly. For a complete guide to installing the networking card, refer to the G11 series manual and datasheets. Technical support for this card and the entire series was originally provided by the manufacturer, Fuji Electric.
