About the OPC-G9S-PID
The Fuji Electric OPC-G9S-PID is an optional drive control board developed for the Frenic 5000 G9S series. Boards like this can be installed in inversion drives from the G9S series. Specifically, this board provides the drive with PID, or proportional integral derivative, control. This allows the drive to operate machinery like pumps and fans with ease. PID boards can gauge the amount of power or motor output required based on feedback from the source.
OPC-G9S-PID is relatively easy to install into a Frenic 5000 G9S inversion drive. To install, loosen the front plate screws. Users can easily detach the front plate once these screws are removed. When inside the device, this optional control board snaps into place on top of the system’s main control board. This provides the system with access to the PID controls and calculations.
Maintaining the board includes maintaining the drive that it is installed in. Inverters from the G9S series are protected by a NEMA 1 enclosure. This allows the device to be installed in a climate controlled indoor environment. When operating on a production line or in a factory, ambient temperatures of these facilities should fall no lower than -10℃, or 14℉, and no higher than 50℃, or 122℉. For a complete guide to installing the OPC-G9S-PID into the drive and how to operate it, refer to the G9S series manual as well as the device datasheet. Technical support for the entire G9S series was originally provided by Fuji Electric.
