About the 193X717AAG01
The 193X717AAG01 is an S-21 Power Supply board created by General Electric for their Speed Variator Drive system and compatible drives, including the SCR Drive. The Speed Variator Drive is a bidirectional, closed-loop adjustable speed system built around a DC motor and a power and control unit. The SCR Drive is very similar, except it is a unidirectional drive.
The 193X717AAG01 board is built with a tall front panel with an attached handle. The handle allows technicians to insert and remove the 193X717AAG01 from racks more easily for maintenance or replacement. The front panel is marked with the board ID number, with its use (Power Supply) and with the round GE logo. This panel is attached to the PCB using two screw mounts that feed through the bottom of the board and are reinforced along the top edge by a metal bar.
The 193X717AAG01 is populated by three transistors. This includes one large Motorola bipolar transistor marked M2N3612 126. This transistor is mounted to the top of a metal C-shaped housing. The transistor connects to the housing using two screws. The housing connects to the PCB using two screws. The housing also has two fuses mounted to it, one on its top surface and one along its side. Two black wires connect from one fuse to the board surface.
The 193X717AAG01 has a single transformer mounted in a frame. The board is populated with metal film and carbon composite resistors. Capacitors tend to be made of electrolytic material.
