The GE Terminal Board Relay Card 531X111PSHANG3 includes the replacement of the 3TB assembly. The assembly is attached to the board with three wires that are attached to connectors on the board. Also, the assembly has a ribbon cable attached to it. The assembly is attached to a mounting plate in the interior of the board cabinet in the drive.
You must consider the fact that all ribbon cables require you to disconnect and reconnect them using a technique that avoids damage. The fine wires that comprise a ribbon cable are easily damaged and can be disconnected from the connector. You must avoid disconnecting the cable by pulling on the ribbon cable. The proper technique is to grasp the ribbon cable by the plastic connector with one hand. Use your other hand to steady the assembly and pull the connector out of the assembly.
Five screws secure the defective assembly to the mounting plate. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws and keep the screws together in a safe place. If any screws fall into the drive or become lodged in any other components, stop the procedure and retrieve the screws. The loose screws might damage the drive when you apply power to the drive during restart.
Using the screwdriver, remove the four support posts from the mounting surface.
