About the 531X111PSHATG3
General Electric developed the 531X111PSHATG3 card as a motor field control and power supply board. It is a member of GE’s 531X replacement series of drive boards and cards. Members of this series can be installed in a number of GE older and obsolete models of drives and exciters. This board is a key component of the overall drive system as it provides the power supplies needed for drive operation. Using this board also provides power to the drive’s motor field circuitry. G3 series of this board features MOVs for the AC line that are mounted externally rather than on the board itself.
Proper function of this board is integral to overall board operation. Power supplies rated at 5 VDC, 15 VDC, and 24 VDC are all produced by this card. Motor field circuits are provided with power supplies from the card’s integrated pulse transformer. Three relays found on the board provide users with drive controls. RUN (K1), MAX (K2) and FIELD (K3) are all found on the card. 531X111PSHATG3 includes a number of onboard adjustment controls. The three potentiometers allow users to adjust and calibrate current circuits and feedbacks. These are labelled as P1 (SCALE), P2 (CFB ZERO), and P3 (CFB ADJUST). Feedback and current signals can also be adjusted using the five configurable jumpers integrated into the board.
Provided storage and installation parameters should be met by the user. The manufacturer provided these to decrease the risk of any damages to the drive or its boards. Only permit qualified personnel who are trained to handle these drive boards to install 531X111PSHATG3. Wiring and installation guides can be found in the series manual as well as the board’s datasheet. Technical support was originally provided by the series manufacturer, General Electric.
