The 531X126SNDABG1 is one of General Electric’s snubber boards. This board is one of many of the replacement boards available within AX Control’s inventory originally manufactured by General Electric as a replacement board for the company’s various drives and exciters.
Snubbers and snubber boards are designed to limit transient voltage within an electrical system. When a sudden interruption of current flow occurs that may have a negative effect on nearby systems or cause damage to the device, the snubber dissipates power and mitigates spikes before any damage occurs.
The 531X126SNDABG1 board weighs less than a pound before the addition of packing materials or external boxing. It is a rectangular board that has been factory drilled several times in each board corner. The board is marked with the General Electric logo and with the 531x ID number. It may also carry a similar F31x secondary ID number. The board is designed with a number of connectors including vertical pin header connectors and vertical male tab connectors. The remaining board components include various resistors along with some surface-mounted wires.
