The GE Power Connection Board 531X308PCSADG1 is a renewal part for multiple original equipment power connection boards. The 531X308PCSADG1 board is prone to damage by static so you should follow the guidelines for installing and maintaining static sensitive devices.  Always wear a protective wrist  strap when you work on the drive or a board. One end of the wrist strap is a clip that you connect to a bare metal structure, such as a workbench. Any electrical buildup on your body or the board will seek ground and exit through the metal. The other end is attached to your wrist and must be worn for the device to be effective.

Don’t walk around when you are performing tasks on the board. Movement can cause static to build up.  When you pick up the device keep it in the protective bag and hold the board by the edges. The protective bag keeps the board free of static. If you have to put down the device, place it on top of the bag and don’t let others handle it or cause damage to it. Insert the board directly into the drive if possible and in the process of inserting the board, don’t damage the components by handling them and don’t touch the solder points.  In cold weather these guidelines are even more important because room heating reduces humidity in the air and increases static.

The drive has structures inside to secure the circuit boards but don’t touch the board against the structures and damage the board.
