About the 531X308PCSAEG3
The GE Power Connection Board 531X308PCSAEG3 is a renewal part for multiple original equipment power connection boards. The two jumpers on the 531X308PCSAEG3 board are set by the installer to configure the board to work identically to the defective board. The voltage supplied to the armature is configured by the jumpers and the board has seven pins. The installer follows the information supplied with the drive to set the jumpers for the right voltage by installing the jumpers over the pins.
The servicer should know where the emergency shutoff is for the power and the servicer should have another person nearby in case of emergency.
The installer must wear a wrist strap while performing this procedure to protect the board from static. Also, the board should lie flat on the protective bag in which the board was packaged. Next, release the tabs that hold the defective board in place and remove the board from the drive. Note all connected cables and label them with the connector number in which to reconnect them. Hold the replacement near the drive and connect all cables.
The replacement drive might be a newer version and the connectors can be in different locations. Compatibility between the boards is part of the design so you can know that the new board will behave just like the older board in your drive. Keep the board horizontal and slide the board into the board carrier in the drive. Lock the tabs to secure the board in the drive.
