F31X171TMAABG1--Micro Application Terminal Board

The F31X171TMAABG1 is a Micro Application Terminal Board.    This board is used within several of GE’s general purpose drives, including the AC-300, the DC-300, and the AC-500.  While many of these may now be considered obsolete, GE general purpose drives are powerful and flexible systems that are typically used in industrial settings.  The F31X171TMAABG1 is optionally marked with board number 531X171TMAABG1. It also has codes such as VA-4, 002/0, 005/0, FR00-0, 004/0, and 003/0. The board is drilled in multiple locations to allow for mounting options.

The  F31X171TMAABG1 is populated by three header connectors.  These include a 15-pin and two 24-pin headers. The board has three metal film resistors and three metal oxide varistors. Varistors are used as compensation or control elements that protect against transient voltages by shunting excessive voltage away from sensitive components.  It has three relays. These are located in a single line.

The  F31X171TMAABG1 has three terminal strips that cumulatively have eighty-four screw connections.  Each of these connections is labeled and numbered along the bottom edge of the board. The labels for the terminal strips located toward the center of the board are notated with a dot after the label to differentiate them from labels for the closer terminal strip.
