About the IS200EXTBG1A
The IS200EXTBG1A model is an Exciter Terminal Board that is part of the Input/Output Terminal Board models. The primary function of this board is to support contact inputs, signal conditioning circuits, and pilot relay contact outputs. This model is the first of the board groups, the IS200EXTBG1A model is a redundant control, used in contactor mode. This board will typically be used to handle protection functions as well as field flashing. Three sub-d pin connectors allow for other connections on the board.
The IS200EXTBG1A board is used with the EDEX and EMIO boards, the EDEX board is used to fire SCR de-excitations which the EXTB model controls, but the EMIO board is used to start the de-excitation feature. The EXTB model has to be connected to the EPDM module as it will send power to the EXTB model.
The IS200EXTBG1A board is no longer manufactured by General Electric but can still be found on the market. There are two manuals best used when installing the model, one of the manuals, the GEH-6632 EX2100 Excitation Control User’s Guide is a series manual, while the GEI-100458 manual is a product-specific manual.
