Frequently Asked Questions about DS200ADMAH1A

What is a DS200ADMAH1A board?

The DS200ADMAH1A is an Analog to Digital Printed Circuit Board that is installed in a DS200DSPC Digital Signal Processor as an option board and enables it to receive and transmit digital input signals for the LS2100 control system.

What is the purpose of the numerous analog inputs provided to the DS200ADMAH1A?

With the number of analog inputs, each has different functions, four of which are scaled to drive a 500 picofarad load to ±10 V with 12-bit resolution and 2K ohm.

The DS200ADMAH1A board has a number of discrete digital I/O inputs, what is the purpose of the digital input signals that are received by the ADMA?

The digital input signals that are received by the DS200ADMAH1A board are registered and interfaced to the attached DSPC's board DSP through the EPLD when this function has taken place it allows for application-specific adaption of the interface.

How many connectors are on the ADMA board?

There are three connectors, a XA_, XB_, and a TBPL connector. The XA_ connector is a 60-pin high-density connector, the XB_ connector is a 40-pin high-density connector, and the TBPL connector is a 60-pin high-density cable ribbon cable header.

What information do I need when reordering the ADMA board through AX Control?

When reordering the DS200ADMAH1A board through AX Control it is best if pictures of the board have been taken. The model number will also need to be provided, the model number can be found on the edge of the board.

About the DS200ADMAH1A

The DS200ADMAH1A is an Analog-to-Digital Module (ADMA) Daughterboard from the LS2100 Series made by General Electric. The module is used in conjunction with the DS200DSPC Digital Signal Processor Control Board and the DS200SNPA SNP Protocol Interface Daughterboard. The module is mounted in the VMEbus rack and can be used to help with bridge control. The ADMA board connects to the DDTB Input Output Board which is via the density cables and connectors.

The DS200ADMAH1A model will typically mount onto the DSPC board, please note that the DSPC board is considered a motherboard. When mounted together the ADMA and DSPC boards will set filters, and buffers, which will also convert digital and analog input/output signals. This model can be easily found on the market and can be found in several manuals. The best manuals to use with the ADMA board are the attached GEH-6373 manual and the GEI-100218 manual.

The DS200ADMAH1A model comes with a faceplate that has two LEDs, the green IMOK LED is used for indication of whether or not the board is functioning properly, and the red FAIL LED is used to indicate and drive the software on the attached DSPC board which would indicate if something within the ADMA board has failed.

Reviews For DS200ADMAH1A

Internal Review
(5.0)

The DS200ADMAH1A model is equipped with programmable logic such as a static RAM-based programmable logic device that provides an interface between the I/O features of the ADMA daughterboard and the DSPC's processor buses. It is a small, compact PCB that can be easily removed and replaced without the need for significant expertise or installation procedure. It is however, somewhat hard to acquire separately from the DSPC and has limited market availability. - AX Control Technician
