Frequently Asked Questions about DS200NATOG2A

What kind of model is the DS200NATOG2A board?

The DS200NATOG2A board is a Voltage Feedback Scaling Board (NATO).

There are five resistor strings on the DS200NATOG2A board, what are their purposes?

The primary purpose of the resistor strings is to be used with the AC and DC inputs. Each string has three stab connectors which end up totaling fifteen input points. Each strong also has two optional wire jumpers.

Is there a difference between the G1 and G2 NATO boards?

Yes! The G1 board contains six resistors per string, while the G2 substitutes two wire jumpers for the two bottom resistors and will only have four resistors per string.

How are the outputs of the DS200NATOG2A board contained and connected?

The outputs of the five strings used for the AC and DC voltages are connected to a twenty-pin ribbon header, there is a metal oxide varistor that will be used to help prevent each string from becoming too high in case the output ribbon circuit is interrupted.

What is the alphanumeric catalog number on the DS200NATOG2A used for?

The number on the board is used to help identify the correct part when it needs to be replaced. There are specific meanings that can be found within the GEI-100225 Voltage Feedback Scaling Board Users Guide attached to the Manuals tab above.

About the DS200NATOG2A

The DS200NATOG2A NATO board is a Voltage Feedback Scaling Board produced by General Electric. This model is part of the second group variation. The purpose of this model is to attenuate AC and DC voltages on an SCR bridge. When the DS200NATOG2A model has performed these functions, it will ensure that the bridge voltage feedbacks are accurately derived. As mentioned above, the DS200NATOG2A model is a G2 unit that will substitute two wire jumpers for two bottom resistors giving the model four resistors per string.

The outputs of the board are taken through the five strings that are connected to the twenty-pin ribbon header. There are also several MOVs (metal oxide varistors) that prevent the output voltages from getting too high if the ribbon circuit gets interrupted while the input voltage is present. The burden resistors needed for operation are on the attached gate distribution status board rather than the NATO board.

Voltage Feedback Sensing Board Model DS200NATOG2A has attenuator voltages that are set by stab connectors and wire jumpers for the G2 variation of the NATO; there are multiple VLG and VLL inputs, one of the VLL inputs is 2200 with a VLG input of 1270.17, with these inputs there is a VLG output of 1.905. With these specific inputs, there are a few wire jumpers, two resistors, and an input stab connector JxA.

There are multiple agency approvals used with the DS200NATOG2A model; these approvals are CSA, EC, and UL standards used with transients controlled and known.

Reviews For DS200NATOG2A

Internal Review
(5.0)

The DS200NATOG2A model is more enhanced than the G1 NATO group because it has wire jumpers that the G1 model does not. This model can also be configured to the user's preferences. For more information on the configuration of the NATO model, refer to the GEI-100225 Instruction Manual. - AX Control Tech
