About the IC3600EPZU1B
The IC3600EPZU1B is a GE FANUC Power Supply Board for the Mark I/Mark II series of gas/steam turbine management. These are Speedtronic systems. Designed to be adaptable and scalable, the Mark I and Mark II can manage heavy-duty turbines as small as a single 4000 HP unit to a power station rated for 400 Mw combined cycles. These systems have been used worldwide in temperatures from -50C to +50C in to run pipeline pumping stations, marine drives, and industrial generator drives, to name just a few applications.
The IC3600EPZU1B has several markings, including the board identification, the GE “USA” logo, the codes 002/01 and 006/01 and the mark EPZU. One board edge is numbered.
The IC3600EPZU1B has four diodes, two wire-wound resistors, and one fuse. The resistors are marked 1K 5% 10W 2147901 and 10K 5% 10W 214902. Capacitors on this board are made of polyester vinyl (two, marked 2Q78 10μF +/- 10%,) and aluminum electrolytic material (nine, marked 105C + 9807H 30D + TE 1307 50μF 50 VDC. The final component connected to the board is marked MOV1, and is a metal oxide varistor. The resistance of a MOV is very high, but when it exceeds a threshold voltage, the resistance drops and reaches zero. This component is primarily used as a line voltage surge suppressor.
The IC3600EPZU1B is built with a line of twenty-five metal pins on one edge, which connect into the main frame’s wiring and allows the Speedtronic system and the board to communicate with each other.
