About the IC3600LCDA1
The IC3600LCDA1 is a Clock Logic Driver Card for the Mark I or Mark II series from GE. The earliest of the Speedtronic gas/steam turbine management systems, the MKI and MKII were designed to be adaptable to the needs of the turbine system, whether it be large or small, complex or simple. One example of this is the adaptability of the Speed/load control, which can be set to either isochronous (speed held to setpoint regardless of load,) or droop (speed decrease with the load.) Speed control operates the turbine in response to a setpoint. In isochronous control, the turbine speed is equal to the setpoint. On droop control, the generator must be synchronized to the system. The setpoint then determines the turbine load.
The IC3600LCDA1 is a GE FANUC part. It is marked with the board identification number, with the GE logo, and with the codes 68A999101 and 006/04. The board is marked with numbering (one through fifty-one in jumps of five) on one edge.
The IC3600LCDA1 has eighteen transistors. These transistors are placed on the board in two lines of nine. It is worth noting that the first line of transistors are all marked as “Q1” and the second line of transistors are all marked as “Q2.” The board is built with one polyester vinyl capacitor. This is marked “C3.” It also has a single line of eighteen through-hole capacitors which alternate between labels of “C1” and “C2.” The board is populated with several lines of resistors and capacitors. Not all of these components carry a designating label.
The IC3600LCDA1 is built with a line of metal pins attached in a parallel line on one edge. The purpose of these components is for communication between the board and the system.
