About the IC3600LIVD1A

The IC3600LIVD1A is a GE FANUC Logic Inverter card that is a component for the Mark I and/or the Mark II series. Developed by General Electric in the late 1960s/early 1970s for the management of heavy-duty gas and steam turbines, the MKI and MKII have been considered obsolete since the introduction of later Speedtronic systems like the MKIV, MKV, and MKIV. And yet, several hundred MKI and MKII systems are still in active use around the globe, managing large power systems and smaller units. Originally designed to be scalable and adaptable, the MKI and MKII are also designed for fast response, accurate performance and longer life.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
The IC3600LIVD1A is factory-drilled in two corners for mounting. The board number, the GE logo, and numbering by fives have been printed on the board surface. The IC3600LIVD1A is built with:
- a single line of seventeen capacitors
- sixteen of these capacitors are marked as C1
- polyester vinyl capacitors all marked as .001 10% 200V
- seventeenth capacitor is also made of polyester vinyl but is marked +/- 10 % 200 VDC
- two lines of transistors
- sixteen transistors in all
- All of these components are marked as Q1.
Eighty carbon composite resistors are used on the IC3600LIVD1A. However, resistor markings used are restricted to R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5. Sixteen resistors are marked with each designator. The IC3600LIVD1A communicates with the main Speedtronic control panel via wires attached to fifty-one metal pins located along one edge of the board. The pins and their connecting wires function as a communication device.
