The IC3600LRLD1 is a Reverse Logic Binary card designed to fit into the Mark I or the Mark II series. These two series were released by General Electric in the late 1960s and early 1970s to manage gas / steam turbines, and have been in constant use around the world since that time. Designed in the beginning to be adaptable, reliable, and scalable, the MKI and MKII function around four primary sections: a control system, an independent protection system, a sequential logic system, and a self-contained power system. Most of these systems can be tailored to the turbine system in some way. The MKI and the MKII can be used in temperatures from plus/minus 50 degrees Celsius, and both have the capability for managing systems from 4000 hp single units up to power stations with multiple units of up to 400 Mw combined cycle rating.
The IC3600LRLD1 is marked with the code 006/01. The GE logo is printed on its surface as well as the board number. One edge has been sequenced with numbers from one to fifty-one in jumps of five.
The IC3600LRLD1 has one polyester vinyl capacitor located away from the majority of the larger components. This capacitor is surrounded on three sides by numbered diodes that have been mounted to the board by vertical through-hole connectors. On the fourth side of this capacitor is a line of fifty-one metal pins, which the IC3600LRLD1 uses for communication purposes. These pins attach to wires which allow signals to move to and from the board.
The IC3600LRLD1 is built with several lines of resistors made of carbon composite material. These components have been attached to the board in a vertical position. Interspersed among the resistors are over fifteen transistors. Transistors are also through-hole components.
