The IC3600TPCD1A is a Mark I component that will also fit into the Mark II series. These series were created in the 1960s/1970s for the management of heavy-duty gas and steam turbines. They both are designed around a control/protection/sequencing/power supply design that utilizes integrated redundant fail-safes to improve reliability, and logic control to automate operating procedures like startup and shutdown to improve efficiency. While both systems are considered obsolete and have now been replaced by newer Speedtronic designs like the Mark IV, Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark VIe, many of these early Speedtronic systems are still in use by facilities in many countries.
The IC3600TPCD1A is built with seven integrated circuits. Six of these are placed in a single line. The board has seven capacitors. There are six polyester box capacitors which each line up with an integrated circuit in the single line. The last integrated circuit also lines up with the last capacitor, which is a high-voltage ceramic capacitor.
The IC3600TPCD1A is built with twelve transistors. The board also has several lines of resistors and diodes. The board carries several silver traces that connect empty through-holes. These traces typically run parallel to the board edges. The board is drilled in two corners and carries right-angled pins in a single line on one edge.
