About the IC3600TSKB1B
The IC3600TSKB1B is a component for the Mark I/Mark II series. The first of the Speedtronic series from GE for steam/gas heavy-duty turbine management, the MKI/MKII were released four years apart in 1969 and in 1973. These systems focused on how to use the most up to date technology available at that time to increase the efficiency of GE’s heavy duty turbines with a management system that could scale up or down and could manage both simple and complex systems with one or many turbines. While both systems are now considered obsolete, they managed to achieve these design goals, which may be why they are still in use today.
The IC3600TSKB1B is a Startup Control card. The majority of its components are mounted to the bottom two-thirds of the board. The top third is empty except for the top of the parallel line of right-angled pins that runs along one long edge. This board edge is also numbered.
Two corners on the IC3600TSKB1B are drilled for mounting. It has seven transistors, three capacitors, sixteen resistors, and several diodes. Capacitors tend to be made of aluminum electrolytic material. Most resistors and diodes on this board are vertically mounted.
The IC3600TSKB1B has one reed relay, which is marked K1. Reed relays are designed with a reed switch mounted within a glass tube that is controlled by an electromagnet. Since the electromagnet acts directly on the switch, the relay does not need an armature connected to the switch to move it.
The IC3600TSKB1B ships from the AX Control warehouse in a static-reducing covering. Publications like manuals or data sheets from the original manufacturer should be considered resources for installation instructions and safety data. These should be reviewed before unboxing your new component.
