About the IC3603A278B
The IC3603A278B is a Thermocouple Averaging Module created by General Electric for the Mark I and Mark II series. A thermocouple is a sensor used to measure temperature. Thermocouples are made with two wires of different metals, joined together at one end to form a junction. The junction is placed on the surface or in the environment that's being measured. As the temperature changes, the two dissimilar metals begin to deform, causing a change in resistance. Naturally, a thermocouple outputs a millivolt signal, therefore, as the resistance changes, the change in voltage can be measured. Thermocouples are desirable because they're extremely low cost, simple to use, and are capable of providing accurate readings. The IC3603A278B has two rows of toggle switches. There are nine toggle switches in each row. These toggle switches are placed at the top and the bottom of the device. In between these toggle switches is a faceplate with three LED (light emitting diodes) on the right-hand side (when facing the device). The IC3603A278B is a large grey rectangular shape that is deep set. The IC3603A278B slides into place and easily secures into place with a few clips.
