About the IC3603A281A
The IC3603A281A is a heat sink created by General Electric for the Mark I and Mark II. A heat sink is a passive heat exchanger that transfers the heat generated by an electronic or mechanical device to a fluid medium, often air or liquid coolant, where it is dissipated away from the device, thereby allowing the regulation of the device’s temperature at optimal levels. The IC3603A281A is an important part of equipment because the circuit board in the system will suffer if they become too hot. Soldering will come undone, components will no longer perform properly, this can cause the whole system to crash. With a heat sink however, that is avoided. The IC3603A281A has twenty-four flat head screw points. Across twelve of the screw points is a flat metal bar that can be gently removed by disconnecting the metal clips. The IC3603A281A has three large dark blue stripped resistors across the top. These resistors are used to slow down the energy flow. Each strip on the resistor corresponds with a color code which gives the color a numeric value in order to equate how much energy can be withheld. The IC3603A281A has two gold-colored eye hooks that are used to secure the IC3603A281A into place securely.
