The IC3606DEXB1A is a General Electric Extender Circuit Board.  This PCB is part of the Mark I/Mark Ii turbine control systems from GE.  These were the first of the popular Speedtronic turbine control systems made and marketed by the company.  As compared to later versions, the Mark I and Mark II were simple and rather simplistic control systems, but they are reliable control systems that made a significant improvement to control systems at the time of their release; many are still in use around the world today. 

The IC3606DEXB1A functions as an extender PCB.  Most extender boards like this one are designed as simple circuit boards with few to no components.  These cards are used to create an extension between a board within a rack system to external diagnostic equipment, including systems analyzers or oscilloscopes.  This dummy board essentially acts as a temporary interface connection. 

The IC3606DEXB1A includes a backplane connector on one board edge mounted to a metal carrier.  This has multiple pin connectors on its interior edge.  The board itself is empty with the exception of multiple wires connecting this backplane to another front-edge component that is made up of many extending pin connectors that face the opposite direction.   The board is marked with its identification number and with the GE logo.
