The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DADB features one 20-pin ribbon cable permanently attached to the board and 3 pin-type connectors. The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DADB also is populated with terminals for attaching a variety of components. The board is 3.5 inches in height and 6 inches in length. It is designed to fit inside the drive in a board rack with spaces for many types of boards and other devices. The boards are optional devices that provide different functions for the type of processing the site requires.

The 20-pin ribbon cable provides signals to command the board to perform some processing functions. Some of the signals are sent to the board from other boards for processing. Other signals are transmitted to other boards and components. Because the ribbon cable is short and is attached permanently to the board, it is important that you use good practices when you disconnect the ribbon cable.

Never grasp the board and pull the ribbon cable out of the connector to which it is connected. This action can easily disconnect the fine wires from the connector at the end of the ribbon cable. You will notice that little support is provided to the ribbon cable so care must be used. To disconnect the ribbon cable, grasp the connector at the end of the ribbon cable and pull it out of the connector on the board. Occasionally inspect the ribbon cable for signs of wear between the connector and the ribbon cable. Notice if the wires appear to have pulled free of the connector and replace the ribbon cable if that has occurred.
