About the DS3800DCMC
The DS3800DCMC is a motor field board PCB or printed circuit relay manufactured as part of GE's Speedtronic Mark IV series. The Mark IV emerged due to a need for a gas and steam turbine control system that would experience fewer disruptions and downtime. Due to the intentional redundancies and interconnection between chipsets, the Speedtronic Mark IV shifts control responsibilities when one PCB experiences an issue, but the entire system continues to run. This allows the operator to fix the problem without interruption to the system. The DS3800DCMC is designed as a regulator card.
The DS3800DCMC has the following specifications:
-
Two 13-pin I/O connectors located side by side on the middle of one long side of the card. Both connectors are male.
-
Two LED displays to the right and left of I/O connectors. Both displays are labeled TXDA, RXDA, CTSA, DSRB.
-
factory-drilled mounting holes at each corner
-
One ribbon cable, located on the opposite long side from the I/O connectors.
-
Five plug ports, located next to ribbon cable, running parallel to the long side of the board. These are labeled P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5.
-
One communication relay, located near one of the LED displays.
-
Three jumper switches. These are located near the communications relay, and one near each of the 13-pin I/O connectors.
-
"Spare"--behind the second LED display are two lines of 8 sets of PTH (plated through-holes,) to serve as extra contact points as necessary.
-
Capacitors. There are thirty-nine capacitors
-
Integrated circuits. There are sixteen integrated circuits.
