About the DS3800DERB
The GE Excavator Ref Board DS3800DERB features 24 single-pin connectors and 8 trimmer resistor components. The GE Excavator Ref Board DS3800DERB also is 5-inches in length and 2-inches in height.
The 24 single-pin connectors can support up to 24 separate cables and due to the large number of cables consideration must be made to route the cables to avoid problems. The drive generates heat while under normal working conditions and it depends on a supply of cool air to keep all components in the interior of the drive cool. To keep the temperature within a normal range, air enters the drive at the bottom through air vents and removes heated air surrounding the components before exiting the drive at the top. Due to the large number of cables connected to the board, the air might be blocked from cooling the drive. Make sure the air vents are not blocked by the cables and that the cables don’t block cool air from reaching components.
Keep the cables routed along the outside edge of the drive interior and away from any power cables. The power cables will radiate energy that will interfere with information carried by the signal cables. If the signals are interfered with, inaccurate signals will degrade the accuracy of the signals received by the board and transmitted to other boards in the drive.
If the drive overheats, the drive might reach the overtemperature threshold and automatically shutdown. This is called a trip condition that is a safety feature to prevent damage to the board.
