About the DS3800DFPH
The GE Circuit Board DS3800DFPH features 1 34-pin ribbon cable and 3 trimmer potentiometers. The GE Circuit Board DS3800DFPH also is populated with multiple test points and 1 transistor-transistor logic component embedded on the board. The board is 5-inches in length and 4-inches in height and it also has 1 hole in each corner because it is designed to be mounted in a rack inside the drive. A space is available in the drive for the 4 holes to align with matching holes in the drive rack, You can use 4 screws to mount the board. Use a screwdriver to attach the screws. However, if you drop a screw while mounting the board, locate and pickup the screw before you continue. If you start the drive with a lost screw inside, the screws might create an electrical short and start a fire or cause serious injuries.
Once the board is mounted, plug in the 34-pin ribbon cable. The ribbon cable is permanently attached to the board on one end. The other end terminates in a 34-pin plastic connector. Plug the connector into the designated connector in the drive and make sure it is fully seated. If you see space between the connectors, press it so that the space closes. Only then can you be sure all connectors have made contact.
When you are prepared to remove the board from the drive, with 1 hand firmly grasp the 34-pin connector and pull it out of the connector in the drive. Do not tug the ribbon cable or put tension on the ribbon cable.
