The DS3800DFXD1B1B functions as a regulator board within the Mark IV turbine control system.  Regulators provide fixed output regardless of whether changes occur in the load or in the input voltage.   It smooths out spikes or dips to maintain smooth operation.   The Mark IV turbine system is a modular system that uses a variety of different boards and is designed to offer the same reliable service to industrial turbine systems of different sizes and complexities.  While this board has been discontinued by the OEM, it remains available within AX Control’s wide and varied stock of industrial automation parts.  

The DS3800DFXD1B1B board is a small rectangular board that is heavily populated with components.  The board has several codes printed along its edges, near drill holes that allow the board to be easily mounted into the overall system.   This area also carries the GE logo that will ensure the board’s authenticity.  

The DS3800DFXD1B1B uses through-hole components mounted on the top side of the board.  These include resistors, diodes, capacitors, multiple integrated circuits, transistors, and three test points.  Test points are typically used at the factory and will not be used by the end-user.   Additionally, the board has seven jumper switches and a single potentiometer.  The potentiometer allows for variable settings and the jumpers can be changed to make changes to individual circuits.   Finally, the board has three right-angled connectors, one that has a ribbon connector already supplied.   Be sure to handle ribbon connectors delicately so as not to damage the individual wires or crush or misalign the connector pins.
