The GE Gas Turbine Board DS3800DGTA is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features 1 hole in each corner. The board can be secured in the drive with screws. The GE Gas Turbine Board DS3800DGTA also is populated with 1 20-pin ribbon cable attached to the board. The board is populated with 5 trimmer resistors and 6 wire terminals. The GE Gas Turbine Board DS3800DGTA is also populated with test points.

The board rack has a dedicated location for the GE Gas Turbine Board DS3800DGTA. The location is designed so that the ribbon cable can easily fit into a connector on another board. The ribbon cable must not be pulled or tugged to reach the connector. This is because the ribbon cable is comprised of multiple fine wires to carry the control signals. The connector that terminates the ribbon cable is fragile. If the ribbon cable is tugged, it can damage or lose the connections. Make sure there is slack so that the ribbon cable comfortably connects to the other board.

Since the board connects with screws to the board rack, you must consider some additional guidelines. Use 2 hands to install each screw. With 1 hand guide the screw into the hole and with the other hand turn the screw driver. If a screw falls into the drive, retrieve the screw before you continue. If the drive is powered on with a loose screw touching components, the screw might cause a short circuit which can lead to an electrical fire.
