About the DS3800DMEB
The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB also is populated with 15 capacitors and 2 trimmer resistors. The board is populated with 2 potentiometers with dial settings and 6 indicator LEDs. It also is populated with test points.
Special consideration must be given to the potential for electric shock and burn to installers and servicers when handling the board. The board is populated with multiple capacitors that store large amounts of electric current. The current is stored during normal processing without operator intervention. The current is released as part of the turbine control processing operations. Then, the cycle is repeated and more current is stored. The cycle of storage and release is not a safety risk as long as the board remains in the drive and is not touched.
However, if the GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB is removed, there is a risk that the servicer or installer can receive a dangerous electric shock. This can lead to serious burns or other harm. Before the board is removed, all sources of electrical power must be removed. This includes ac and dc electrical power. Even when all power sources are removed, the GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB can store electricity on the capacitors. To remove the electricity from the capacitors, wait 30 seconds after power is removed from the drive for the electricity to dissipate.
