About the DS3800DPLA1B1A
The DS3800DPLA1B1A is part of a Turbine series called Speedtronic Mark IV by General Electric (GE). The DS3800DPLA1B1A board contains a small a Potentiometer also referred to as a variable resistor. This variable resistor has an adjustable screw on the side of the blue square. Adjusting the screw allows the operator to control the amount of energy going through the circuit board. The board also contains LEDs. There are three red LEDs that light up as energy moves around the circuit board. The board includes seven resistors. Four are attached to the board and are blue in color, the other three are attached to terminal towers. Each resistor has individual color bands to identify the number of Ohms each resistor is capable of handling. The board has six total terminal towers. These raised towers have a golden colored and include a flat top screw on top. These towers allow for resistors, diodes, and capacitors to be efficiently interchanged as needed. The terminal tower currently has a pale-yellow polypropylene capacitor attached as well. The DS3800DPLA1B1A also has about twenty individual metal stakes. These stakes are referred to as Jumper ports. The Jumper ports can be covered two stakes under one cover, in a variety of ways to direct the energy flow accordingly. The DS3800DPLA1B1A comes with seven blue covers that can be used for the Jumper ports. This board is intended to be connected to a larger board to function properly. The larger circuit board may be referred to as a "Motherboard" at times. So the DS3800DPLA1B1A is considered a "Daughterboard". In order to attach to the "Motherboard", the DS3800DPLA1B1A has a ribbon style wiring harness with a connector. In order for the DS3800DPLA1B1A to be stable on the "Motherboard," there is also four port to place the plastic anchor in.
